Meet our Trainer: Alexa White

Alexa is our resident Head Trainer and Rider. She began riding when she was three years old. Alexa spent her early childhood in New York before moving to Florida with her family. As a child rider, Alexa started out competing in the pony divisions and progressed all the way to the junior hunters and Big Equitation. While living in Florida, Alexa was a junior rider at a large “A Circuit” show barn where she was afforded the opportunity to ride a great many sale horses and compete at venues such as WEF, HITS Ocala, Kentucky Horse Park, HITS Saugerties, and Tryon International Equestrian Center. It is through this experience that Alexa developed a passion for producing hunters and developing young horses to their full potential.

Alexa attended the University of Florida majoring in Psychology and began to train with Christoph Schroeders. While maintaining her interest in the hunter ring, Alexa began to hone her skills riding bigger jumper tracks. Working under Christoph, Alexa grew as a rider and worked her way up to the Grand Prix level where she successfully competed her own Bo Peep, Cornet’s Humpty Dumpty and Monte Cristo. Christoph was a valued mentor, encouraging Alexa to develop her horse management skills while lending a European perspective.

As a young professional Alexa founded her own sales business and developed a network of professional contacts. Alexa focused on developing and maintaining a program that produced well rounded hunters and jumpers that were accomplished in the show ring and pleasant to work with on the ground.

Alexa joined the Sheffield Farms team in January of 2018. Her background in hunters, sales, management and her enthusiasm for developing young horses is an exciting blend of skills. We are looking forward to a great partnership.
