Colton: 9 year old Chestnut Gelding  

Overview: Colton is a 16.2H 9-year old Warmblood gelding by Cabardino out of an Esprit D'Amour mare (Click here for pedigree).  He has shown lightly up to the 3'3" Performance Hunters. You can view video footage of Colton by clicking on the following link:  Colton Videos.  USEF #5346053. 

Preferred Rider:  Colton gets along well with a variety of riders. 

Show Mileage and Potential:  Colton has show mileage up to and including the 3'3" Performance Hunters. 

Under Saddle: Colton is very well broke. 

Trainability:  Colton aims to please.  He is smart, retains his training well and has a good work ethic.  He is the same horse each day.

Preferred Rider:  Colton gets along well with a variety of riders. 

On the Ground:  Colton has good ground manners and he is easy to handle.  He enjoys being groomed and bathed and he adores attention and treats.  He has no vices. He clips, loads, bathes and ships and is good for the farrier and vet.

Temperament:  He is easy-going and easy to work around.

Program:  Colton is currently being ridden 4-5 times a week by a pro, with 1-2 training rides a week.  He has also thrived in a program where he was being ridden by an adult several days a week with one pro training ride a week.  Colton is an average keeper. He can live inside or out, although he seems to prefer living outside.  He gets along with single sex herds or mixed sex herds.  His ideal situation is sharing a field and a shed with a kind mare or two.  He is not typically the alpha horse.
